I'm glad that some of you are getting beneficial rains - I just hope it's not too much, too soon and it's just running off.

I wish I had some obs. to post, but I'm too far inland.
We really needed some rain here in the Piedmont.

I have seen a report from Swansboro, Nc at the Marine Corp Base of 17.87" Inchs of Rain from Gabrielle.

I got a total of 6.00 inches of rain on my rain gauge and a minimum pressure of 1012.1 millibars (mine is always a millibar or two high). Apparently, my 6.00 inches is fairly close to being valid:

Storm impacts from Tropical Storm Gabrielle:
-8.30 inches of rain fell 6 miles north of Beaufort, N.C.
-Water from Pamlico Sound rose an estimated 1.5 feet, covering
portions of Highway 12, which connects the Outer Banks of N.C.
-Winds were sustained as high as 33 mph, with gusts to 53 mph at
Hatteras, N.C.
-Winds gusted to 44 mph at Morehead City, N.C. The city received 7.43
inches of rainfall as of 2 A.M. EDT.
-Rip currents were reported on the beaches of Tybee Island, Ga.

Here in Corolla...NADA...it got windy around midnight last night, maybe a few drops of rain, but otherwise we got nothing much. Which I'm grateful for because we had a gorgeous day by the pool yesterday! LOL!!!
