Kumejima reported 30 m/s winds (58 kt/67 mph) and a 949.6 hPa pressure at 1500Z. The airport on Kumejima reported higher winds, 48 m/s - 93 knots/107 mph.

Winds on Kumejima have lessened. The western part of the island is now in the eye. Kumejima Station (eastern part of the island) reporting a 948.4 hPa pressure.

Pretty, tiny but pretty.

And I think everybody should take the TS -> Cat 4 in 36 hours with a pinch of salt. This probably was a TS when the *slow* JTWC confirmed a TD and a Typhoon when they said TS.

Please remember they use 10-min avg. So 65kt from the JMA is 85kt+ from the JTWC.
