Wxman57 do you really think this will move NNE across Florida. Its moving west fairly steadily.

I hope your right a 3 minute downpour is all as we got from Olga.

As the front moves into the eastern Gulf and the SW winds aloft reach the Yucatan, the moisture will be drawn N-NNE across Florida along the front. There probably won't be any LLC left, but that doesn't matter. There IS moisture to be entrained along the front and that'll help produce some rain in Florida. But it won't be a long rain event. Just a few hours ahead of the front. It's a strong front, though, and it may have a solid line of storms along it that hits most of Florida. General rainfall 0.5 to 1.5 inches probably. Some severe storms too, though.

Boca I have already received about 2-3 inches or rain here along the coast of Eastern Palm Beach County. You must be out in West Boca or in a place in Palm Beach Country that doesn't rain much.

Lawns are pretty green here and am looking forward to even more rain Saturday as Olga's remnants pass through.

Oy vey, she just won't stay dead! New convection fireing up near the center!

http://www.ssd.noaa.gov/goes/flt/t1/loop-vis.html

Anyways, it looks like she will slam into the Yucatan Peninsula soon.

I think a lot of people either misread posts or really don't understand storms.

One or two thunderstorms near the center is nothing. I was watching as moisture increased last night and was waiting for some real convection to fire, but it never happened. It's fun to watch, it's fun to speculate, but be realistic. If you look at the AVN you can clearly see that any cold cloud tops are being launched to the east as soon as they appear.

Olga is officially dead now. Models have not been run for over 24 hours and the model page on sfwmd is gone.

I believe this happened with Melissa when it was in a similar state. The center especially sort of puffs out large clouds, but they get blown away and die off. I call it the "Choo Choo Train" effect, mainly because that is what it looks like to me as I watch. Just puffs of cloud that don't amount to anything.

Olga is dead, and unless Pablo shows his face in an unlikely scenario then the next name we all have to worry about is Arthur. And not for several months hopefully!

Agree. I remember when Andrea was just a remnant low pressure system it looked much better and was never upgraded. Olga is history and made history as the deadliest storm in December.

in the last frame or two (just checking how dead it is) you can see the "low level swirl" become more elongated i think the shear just picked up a notch or three. stick a fork in it

Olga has been dead, and her remnant low pressure area is winding down finally. After trying so hard to produce something from nothing, it has realized there is nothing it can do, and seems to be giving up the ghost:
