Rum Balls

I don't know if anyone has posted a rum ball recipe. But this one is so good I wanted to share it!!!

Rum Balls, From Southern Living.

I don't know how many the recipe makes, but you want to make them small, like a bite. They should be around the size of a nickel. One recipe will filled two cookie trays.

In a Cuisinart, chop:
16 oz. whole Pecans, so they are very fine, like bread crumbs
12 oz. Nilla Wafers (1 box), so they are very fine, like bread crumbs

Mix together in a bowl and set aside

Add:
1/2 c honey
1/3 Dark Rum (I used Meyers)
1/3 c Bourbon ( I used Jack Daniels)

Mix, it will be sticky, but the consistency should not be too wet

Roll in powdered sugar and store in the refrigerator

***A trick, I found shaking them lightly in a plastic bag filled with powdered sugar gave them a better coating. I liked them nice and covered in white. They will have a little extra on them that way, but better than too little, and it is absorbed by the ball any way.

Yum! Thanks for posting that, sunny! That's an easy
recipe, too.

I have never made rum balls, but, a lady where I used
to work always made them for Christmas, and,
I always loved them!

I've heard of bourbon balls (from KY), but not rum balls. That's different. :)
