According to CNN 59 people have been killed and 72 injured, I guess that the death toll will rise unfortunately:

From this article, why is Pakistan calling this such a massive earthquake and huge calamity? Did they state such for the 8.8 Chile quake? There has been over 14 aftershocks above 5.9 for over a week there alone.
