Sharp increase in eruption activity from El Hierro volcano

There has been a increase in harmonic tremor activity from El Hierro volcano.

This suggest that new vent or vents might be opening up in El Hierro volcano.

But this type of eruption pattern is to be expected from a fissure eruption.

Like the one that is currently taking place in El Hierro volcano.

The harmonic tremor jump in El Hierro volcano at 16:06 UTC.

There are also some explosions that can be seen on this tremor chart.

But they form spikes that can be spotted if looked closely.

The El Pinar Ayuntamiento (authority) i partnership with ACNPress have installed a new webcam with a view to the Las Calmas sea. The webcam sends a streaming image of good quality to our screens. It gives the impression that it is installed at La Restinga on a more stable location than the Telefonica ones. The exact location and viewing angle has to be announced yet. The camera switches every X seconds into another frame (explains the difference in colors). I pity for the ads, but we probably can't have it all.
We have inserted this image in the same page as the 2 other Telefonica webcams.

Very Important Update 14/12 – 06:40 UTC
Julio was not resting before he was certain that the light he recorded wasn’t traced back to the exact location. He superposed two images and scaled them so it would coincide with the port location and position. The effect is amazing. The flashlight really came from the vent and because of the distance it must have been a couple of meters high. Of course it can still be a boat, but we do not believe in that scenario as Julio looked at the other recordings later and NO boat was seen in the area. Julio will check his recordings during the morning hours to find out if new similar events might have occurred. The light must have been meters high based on the distance from the webcam (the webcam was not zoomed at the time)
