:uarrow: Very rare and impressive to see an earthquake of such magnitude in that part of the world, it was also very shallow and that could cause some damages, let's stay tuned to the news.

I wonder if we will get any after shocks. Also could this fire off a greater Earthquake?

Given it's size and region where it is located I don't think a bigger one would occur, yet there will defiantly be some sort of aftershocks from it.

From CNN Breaking News:

An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 5.9 struck in northern Virginia, the U.S. Geological Survey said Tuesday.

very shallow for a quake that size..probably why it was felt all the way to Canada.....enough to jack with some foundations / basements I am sure.

Report out of NYC DT is that cell phone service is down in Manhatten...people out on the streets...bad place to be right now...

Felt it here in NYC just east of Manhattan. Chairs shook and overhead lights swayed here in Long Island city, Queens. Have gotten calls that shaking was pretty strong in Manhattan.
