Drifting ENE actually now that I look at it more. Heavy bands feeding in from the gulf stream, too.

Looking at this radar loop this is probably the most Kay has deviated from the NHC's protected path in such a short period of time... have no idea what it means in the long term

So if this does make it into the atlantic wouldn't we be seeing this eventually become stationary then drift south with the high building in?

Weather: The worst weather late Thursday, with 60-74 mph winds -- highest winds at the beaches -- 3 to 9 inches of rain, possible flooding and possible power outages.
Closures: All Duval County public schools will be closed on Wednesday, Aug. 20 and on Thursday, Aug. 21. San Jose Episcopal Day School, Wayman Academy of the Arts, Joshua Christian Academy, Providence School of Jacksonville, Riverside Day Care, Riverside Pre School, Promise Land Academy, The Broach School, Beaches Chapel School, Wesley Child Development, Episcopal High School, The Providence School, NF Institute, University Christian Schools, Baymeadows Christian Academy and Day School, Isles of Faith Child Development, Trinity Christian Academy, Trinity Baptist College, River City Academy, Success Academy Christian School, Greenwood School, Eagle Academy, Hendricks Day School, Keiser College, Florida Coastal School of Law, St. Stephen Childcare, First Avenue Montessori, Chatmans Academy and Child's Place Montessori School have also been closed becasue of T.S. Fay. All Jacksonville Urban League Head Start schools will be closed on Wednesday and Thursday. Jacksonville City Council has decided to close all non-essential government buildings, including all libraries where early voting is taking place.
Port: The U.S. Coast Guard's captain of the port has ordered the port of Jacksonville to condition Zulu -- closed to incoming marine traffic -- as of 12 a.m. Wednesday. The St. Johns River Ferry will continue to operate until winds reach sustained gale-force strength, or 35 mph. They urge private boaters to prepare or trailer their boats prior to the arrival of the tropical storm.
Navy: The Navy will begin moving eight ships out of the Mayport basin at 6 p.m. Tuesday. All 24 P-3 Orions have left NAS Jacksonville and are en route to bases in either Maine or Ohio. In addition, all S-3 jets and SH-60 helicopters will be rolled into hangers at NAS Jax.

Closures: All St. Johns County school activities are canceled on Wednesday. School and district staff should report to work. Thursday is to be the first day of classes. A decision about school on Thursday will be made Wednesday afternoon. St. Joseph's Academy and Cathedral Parish School have been closed due to Tropical Storm Fay. Castillo de San Marco and Fort Mantanzas are closed.

I think its a cross between Brahma and Angus. Used to live in O"cow"chobee :) - hope they are faring relatively well down there around Lake O. Not looking good...

Melbourne radar is showing that she is about to be over three counties at once...She is in Okeechobee and she is going to cross the Turnpike at where Indian River, St. Lucie, and Okeechobee meet.
