Is this moving WSW??? Bands seem to be moving WSW with time
on this radar. I saw other angles and estimated a west movement.

http://radar.weather.gov/radar.php?rid= ... 1&loop=yes

Some rain bands have been moving through Tampa Bay,
Sarasota, and Fort Myers over the past few hours containing
gusty winds and light to moderate rain.

Wow..... it's looking a lot better than earlier today. She has an outside chance at 60-65 knots before crossing back over.

Tropical Storm Force winds extend out 145 miles from the center,
wow that could cover the entire North half of the peninsula. But most
of that wind is east of the center.

It is wonderful for the mid latitudes. However, if has been worse than the reputation that the Canadian has (and most of the Canadian's rep is UNDESERVED) with some of its solutions so far this season (especially with how it spins everything into a monster)

Well, it nailed this stall on the Florida coast on the 12Z run Sunday. So it does have it's moments. :-)

It'll get close. The big question is if and when the west (or even south of west) movement starts. If Fay stays over water stalled until tomorrow sometime, she might be the healthiest she's ever been for her trip across Florida and possibly into the GOM.

Here in Deland, we're finally feeling the extent of Fay even though it's just decent gusts and a lot of rain.

You can also give them a benedryl if you have any. Our 51 lb. dog can take 2 every 4 hours as needed per the vet. This helps them to calm down and sleep through the worst of it if need be. Hope this helps.

Thanks Artist. We don't baby him, even though it is hard not to. Actually did some research and ran across a couple of sites that say to rub him with a dryer sheet. I did that last night and again this morning and it seems to be working. It has something to do with the electricity and pressure changes that dogs feel. I was skeptical but it is working so far, which I am glad, I am not crazy about giving him any drugs without talking to the vet.

How is he doing? I am going to try that next time. Thanks for that info. I don't either but one of ours has allergies so bad it is either that or the poor dog would be on steroids all the time. Thus why he suggested to use the benedryl for that as well.

He is still doing fine. I am really surprised, getting alot of wind howling, thunder, lightning and it is pouring and he is just laying on his pillow under his blanket. And it is just oging to get worse here tonite and tomorrow. Normally he would be under my feet, panting and shaking like a leaf. Think I will be buying stock in dryer sheets. :D

One has to wonder if she sits there long enough with the long fetch of easterly winds from the pressure gradient to the NE if it might not pull in some of the warmer SST's out in the Gulf Stream into her center?
