There have been zero reports of "I tried to evacuate yesterday but I couldn't."

I did hear some lady on one of the Houston stations interviewed by a reporter say: "I thought I had time today to evacuate, was planning to do so today."

Ch. 11 just said Ike is stalled as of the past hour. Indication of a turn?

My dogs were terrified during Gustav. We had put my terrier in the laundry room (where he normally stays) because of all the people here and he started absolutely freaking out as the eyewall approached. They seem to have the ability to detect big drops in pressure. My lab just sat there shivering most of the time  .

Crap tornado warning just issued right over me!

Stay safe !!!!!

A painful lesson from Rita is the delayed effect of the storm surge. a few folks started to venture back well after the eye of Rita passed only to be met the incoming surge.

My prayers are with everyone.. heres hoping for a good angle/softer blow and a quick exit of Ike!

So far our dachsund is taking things very well. Has been very willing to go outside and has even done her normal stuff of laying on our back patio and taking a nap. She is almost completely blind, so I don't know if that calms her, but we'll see how she is later.

Recon wont lie! Thanks for the updates over in the recon forum RL3AO... Radar clearly shows a well defined eye getting slightly smaller on the last few frames

6SpeedTA95, the eyewall does look better then it has before though recon notes theres still no true eyewall in the southern and western sides of the eye.

Ike certainly has left it late getting going.

Clear eye on Rainbow - Wow thats a lot of convection on the backside. I remember how much stronger the backside of Katrina was through dade and broward county.

Recon is right, there is clearly no well defined eyewall all the way around the storm even on radar it has some issues.

Weatherfreak14, cool imagery, at least Ike has an eye now compared to the last few days pitiful efforts!

Also said a 82mph gusts was just reported in Moody Gardens..

I'm watching it on my GRAnalyst but I only have 50 minutes worth of data. But it definately doens't look like it has moved. In addition the eye is becoming clearly visible.

Watching here with GR2.
Could you post a pic with analyst?
