AFM, actually I meant to refer to some posts by members who are not meteorologists. I meant no disrespect to you or any other pro met. I'm sorry for not being more clear.

N/P.

I think people have a tendancy a lot of times (on S3K) to overstate the obvious.

i was just pointing that out....no offense to you meant either.

When Max Mayfield speaks, I listen. He and Met. Trent Aric make a great team.

AT 115 KT...MAKING IKE A CATEGORY FOUR HURRICANE. SOME ADDITIONAL
STRENGTHENING IS POSSIBLE DURING THE NEXT 12 HOURS OR SO

I think your hope will turn into reality...or turn into a Carolina hit...that's just my opinion based on my view of models and trends and not a forecast.

Intensification jerks in eye behavior last loop.

Looks like it could go south of trop points as it approaches track arc in front of it. Could be illusion.

Keep watching GFDL.

Ike either has or is just about to reach its peak. The CDO is beginning to flatten off on the western side and outflow is becoming slightly restricted. However, I dont expect weakening to bring this down to a minimal cat3...more like 120-125mph. After that, due to the favorable conditions mentioned many times in the day 4-5 period, I expect a more significant strengthening, with Ike possibly threatening the se coast as a mid-upper cat4.

noted going left of NHC guidance .... at least for that forecast point.

What I think is Derek Ortt may be on to something --- it will respond to ridging more since its a powerful cyclone.

His Latest forecast brings Ike way west on SE Florida's doorstep (just about 75 miles or so SE)

the models we are looking at do not know that Ike has turned into a cat 4, thus they may change when that info is fed to them.
