Yeah I think 45-50kts probably is about right, looks like the SHIPS had the right idea about possible RI. However it remains to be seen whether conditions are as hostile as they predict it will be in the central Atlantic where many models lose it totally.

Well that area of less convection has shifted to the west whilst the older clear slot has collapsed to some degree. Still the convection is really impressive and is pretty well wrapped round.

cycloneye, the thing to note is that the NHC now makes this a hurricane, I suppose they are forced to giventhe way its currently organising.

The other thing to note the NHC also weaken the system as shear seems to be building in.

Josephine looks good though the NE side does look a little on the weak side right now from that far out image of the system...also thats a good looking wave over Africa... :eek:
