Certainly not implying that 94L will be a hurricane, let alone one of Katrina's magnitude, but didn't Katrina finally get its act together when remnants of one depression combined with remnants of another?

Kind of the old "It's not how it starts the race that matters, it's how it ends the race that matters."

Also, while 94L hasn't done anything yet, the fact that everyone is still talking about it five days down the road is something to note (it doesn't seem to want to go away), not to mention the convection blossoming around what appears to be a developing center.

My .02 cents worth, I wouldn't batten the hatches down anywhere just yet, but I certainly wouldn't write this thing off either.

dang that ULL is pimping out 3 circulations

in all seriousness it appears that in the near future the ULL would be getting a bit to close for comfort for 96L unless i am missing something.

94L is definitely developing a pretty significant LLC. Theres no questioning it at this point. Its obvious.

well, the ULL looks to be picking up some speed, so if it keeps ahead of the storm, all i can see it doing is providing the weakness and enhancing outflow.

Recon shows no LLC. This won't have a LL defined enough to be upgraded before it slams into centeral America.

Ok its getting pretty obvious that you really dont want this to develop...I dont want a big storm either, but it seems like "anti-wishcasting."
1. This is NOT going into central america...it looks like central yucatan at furthest south.
2. Recon was out earlier and didnt find a closed llc, but that was while the center was trying to reform and there wasnt much evidence of a llc. Now, there are many more low level clouds, circling around in all directions. I dont know if it has formed completely yet, but it wont be long, and certainly wont take 4 days at this rate.

Derek, your prob. right...I mean, we can all clearly see it. IMO this is really all this wave needed. Now, if it maintains this, and shear numbers are close to being right. This may really take off.

The circulation is the same one we've been talking about for several days. It's always been there. It just hasn't been able to get all the way around because it has been fighting conditions. The look of the storm on the far shot tells you everything. The center is starting to reflect in the mid-level meaning it is finally starting to wrap.

14.8N-72.5W

The whole question what the ULL does to it. It could prevent tonight's Dmax and really throw things off until 94L works its way past it.

its always had a well-deifned MLC. It just never had a well defined LLC. The closest it came was Sunday when it mor resembled a shear line
