I'd personally go with 65kts next forecast, certainly is one impressive system isn't Hurakan, kept us amused for the last 2 weeks anyway!

Loop: http://rammb.cira.colostate.edu/product ... 030800.GIF

Looks like the "inner center" is rotaring around the "outer center" which is dominating the storm's movement. WOW!

she may re-gain hurricane status at 8pm but not sure how long she could keep it.

also she appears to have slowed a tad? and begun moving NE (in addition to spinning around herself)

One of the descriptions of an annular hurricane was that it unexplainably maintained strength where other hurricanes faltered. This was a lesson in marginal dynamics.

Its also a good lesson at how once a system moves away from the upwelled waters they can strengthen quite quickly if they keep a strong circulation with it like Bertha did.

That bottom image is psychedelic. Can you do that to the tie-dye (aka rainbow) image?

looks like she is getting hit by some decent mid level easterly shear and north side is eroding a bit.

will be intresting to see her interaction with the other low dropping SW (to her NE)

btw Josh H H run derby wow

THE NEW OFFICIAL FORECAST
TRACK CONTINUES TO DEPICT WHAT LOOKS LIKE A SINE WAVE...THIS TIME
WITH SLIGHTLY MORE AMPLITUDE...BUT WITH THE NET MOTION OVER FIVE
DAYS BEING EAST-NORTHEASTWARD.

chacor what do you think ..if anything about Bertha's interaction with the Low to her NE (dropping back to the SW) seems like this is the cause of some uncertainty

Yeah, sure seems that way. Of course the real question, once again, is how fast Bertha will move.

It needs 7 more advisory's to beat hurricane Irene of 2005. If it doe's it will be the longest lasting storm since Ivan.

Frances 53 advisory's.
Jeanne 55
Ivan 73 not going to happen
Lisa 56 or so

Ah, but are you counting special advisories that weren't issued at 03/09/15/21? And it's still expected to last through 120h without going extratropical. That's 20 advisories there already.

Its certainly a very long lasting system isn't it, Bertha really is a classic Cape Verde system that goes on for a very long time and also was a major as well at its peak.
