Lets say at 2am est it was at 76.6 west, the Caribbean if it where not to move north at all is near 78.6. That is 2 degree's, 20 clicks(ten clicks per degree) and 6 miles per click that would=120 miles from the 2am est to lets say the area it gets back into the freaking caribbean. Next we think about that calc of 18 mph we found earlier(LETS SAY IT STAYS THE SAME), if so 120 mi/18 mph=6.7 hour or 402 minutes=6 hrs and 42 minutes around 8:42 am est/5:42 am pst. Now that is if it went in a straight line...But this is a two "di" world, because we live on a sphere it is likely more.

Edit to change a few stupid mistakes

Latest frame on radar indicating a slight WNW motion now.Though it's only one frame and could just be a stair step.. It could be the beginning of the more northerly component

I think he might also...

You shouldn't do hot links with cuba radar loops.
Please, change link by this one:

This storm must really went to gut its self, does it. I can't believe this weird storm take a southwestward dive right into Cuba.

Thank you for letting me know that the Earth is round. I was just posing a hypothetical question based on the premise of IF Ike SOMEHOW tracked over into the "freaking carribean".

It is not so unusual to have curiousity about something even if it is not what is likely to happen according to the official line of thinking.

Wow, Ike really seems to have fallen in love with that 21 degrees line! He's just not too anxious to come North of it is he?!

He's really booking across Cuba... almost halfway across already!!! This would be great for Cuba if Ike got on across and got out!

Wait... I live in Texas; should I be rooting for this? :double:

My apologies Matt, I misunderstood your post. :(

I am perfectly calm and quite content to stay right where I am, thanks.

It appears that 1 frame WNW movement was just a wobble and continues heading dead west along the 21` line.

I'll be so glad (as I know all will) when this season is over! I go to bed with a Houston hit and the tv is now saying a NOLA hit. Can someone give me a quick recap, please?

And I know it's too early to tell, but what happened to the ridge?

Thanks for the PM, Matt!! :D

You made things sooo much more clear!! I swear, when it's late like this, I tend to get even more "rattleheaded" than usual! Of course, it doesn't take much for my half of a brain cell to get confused!

So, any ideas as to when Ike is going to start heading in a more wnw direction or is it really possible that he may continue to trek all of the way across Cuba and visit the Carribean?

Whoa, still looks like it's on line from that shot. I don't know why I even turn the tv on! LOL
