Will be interesting to see if that was just a breif wobble off to the north or something a little more lasting, its good news because its now heading closer to the less populated region.

Just woke up here in Corpus, and the dang thing is still out there. All the radar and satellite loops suggest a slight Northerly movement?

unless it doesn't come into coast until Corpus. Then the opposite would happen. Corpus would get HAMMERED! By that point it could be a major hurricane

Wow that eye really has popped out in the last few hour or so on IR, I'm guessing this is now in RI which is really not good news given how close it is to landfall!

Chacor, so at least its still moving then thats good.

Nice round CDO too. As I've said before I'm usually conservative when it comes to intensity and the future of storms, but man that looks like it's undergoing some really impressive - and quick - organisation. Certainly, in my unofficial, non-S2K or NWS/NHC/TPC backed opinion, an 85 or 90 knot landfall does not seem out of the question. I'm still hesitant to say a major hurricane though - I don't think Dolly has the time.

Yep AFM there is going to be some really powerful winds if that shape holds upto landfall.

Chacor, i see no reason why this won't be a cat-2, pressures may well be close to 970mbs now given the way that eye has recently popped, in some ways its good it hasn't got 6hrs longer then it has...
Recon is going to be so interesting!

I'm kind of thinking a NE Cameron/Willacy landfall...

It's already west of Galveston Bay.

If you know Hurricanes, a lot of times hurricanes make a jog to the East before making landfall.

Also should be noted recon already finding 57kts at flight level and they are still a fair way to the NE of the NE eyewall.

Yeah...but not 200 mile jogs.

Not going to happen...and ....well...I'll stop there.

Storm looks to be taking a little more of a NWN turn.

AFM how far north could this get if the high doesn't build back in in time?
Aric---I agree about 970mbs sounds about right at the moment.
