Thanks Tolakram. It's nice to know someone knows how to read the visible satellite.

Shade air temperature Sanibel 83*. Agitated breezes from SE. Hazy sun but overcast now. Obvious weather to SE.

Took some boxes of stuff up from garage floor (surge level). Still have 15 minutes of potted plants and furniture from front porch. Mostly done now except for evacuation stuff in car. No formal notice from town yet.

KWT wrote:Seems like the center you've put there ios a touch too far east according to the vortex message, probably why it loos like the center has relocated to the east but in fact the center is actually a little to the east of where you placed it, vortex showed 23.54N 81.30W.

That's quite possible. I stared at that loop far too long. In motion you can see the convection spiraling off NE of the center. The rapid image frequency really brings this storm alive visually.

Catching up to the winds which I think are 55 kt. It might be a bit lower on the next pass.

Decent pressure drop now down to 1000mbs, does show Fay is slowly organising, still got to wonder if hurricane strength is possible, indeed whilst shear is still displacing the convection the LLC is pretty potent and with convection nearby it must slowly powering up.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think that's how it works...

Winds catch up to pressure falls... but not the other way around....

Key West winds shifting again. Goodness. Faulty readings or polluted by a current storm moving through?

I'm old-fashioned and used to use a worn atlas, but now use either google maps or my hurricane software suite, which has street-detail maps.

Also i agree the structure is looking far better now, its evolved somewhat since 12hrs ago with convection now totally wrapping around the center (at least at the mid-levels anyway) and this looks like it maybe allowing an inner core to start develop.

You are right with the winds catching up to the pressure drop, the pressure falls and then the winds follow.

That is usually correct, but the previous estimates had 1002-1003mb with FL winds of 62 kt and SFMR of 59 kt, which are high for the intensity (typically a 55 kt storm has a pressure around 992-995).

Region of lowest pressure a little further north and also east of the last one, I think the LLC is about to ready to tuck under the MLC again given that...we saw that happen yesterday as well when the shear eased off for the first time.
