I'll just count on losing it, then. It's mounted about 30 feet up on a very steep roof and when I fall it will be onto concrete. If I were young, maybe, but I'm not, and I don't want to die before the storm hits.

It's going to make for a nice leaking roof, though.

I guess this rules out watching the Ohio State/USC game that evening. Dang.

Well, I was being stupidly optimistic anyway. I'll surely have bigger problems to deal with Saturday evening.

well at least you will have it until the last minute! :cheesy: Also, are you with directtv?
If so they are great about getting someone out to realign it for you. One hint - call them the minute the storm is over or even before if you know it has to be replaced or realigned to be one of the first on their list. Otherwise it can take a couple of weeks to get an appointment.

Looking at the visible loop, it still looks like a hurricane, to be sure, but, it looks like a sickly hurricane...

Are you talking about the I-10 Causeway?

Anyone watching these images? That little yellow circle is growing, and is becoming increasingly centered inside the reds:

It hardly looks sickly Frank, sure it doesn't look like a powerful hurricane in terms of winds but no doubting its a huge system and nearly every part of the gulf is having some effects from Ike...granted none as bad as what Texas will be getting in possibly just 24hrs as the strong winds start to come in from Ike's outer regions.

Yep. Something that should be borne in mind is that even though Ike seems stuck on 100 mph, it's a huge system and will generate big waves because in many instances the fetch will be long.

Misleading, 951 was extrap, the pressure is actaully 952, this does not mean it's gone up, it has only gone down 2 mb instead of 3.

Pro-met DeltaDog has landfall on the East side of the Sabine River, different path, same landfall as Rita basically.

Well, you are right there. Even though IVAN looks really sick now, I just really can't see it weakening much before landfall....I mean anything is possible though, and it would only have to drop 10 mph to bring it down to Cat 1 status, but even that will cause some problems.

Down to 952 from 953 earlier.
