I checked it earlier - but nothing. Then I saw your high-risk, life threatening shot. You might get a Pulitzer for that one. Glad you didn't get hurt.

I posted an RSS feed of the stream

Haha. No, but there there were probably some feeder bands, and gusts and stuff that were going on that somebody might have captured at some point. Thanks anyway though.

Uh not really. Even when the rain was at it worst it was no more showy than the last big afternoon thunderstorm we had- less actually... as it never even got heavy enough to make it somewhat dark outside and I haven't seen a flash of lightning all day. A few light rumbles of thunder but nothing that even spooked my cat- and he's a real wuss about thunder. The wind? What wind? The tree leaves aren't even fluttering in the gusts.

This is quite possibly the least impressive big rainstorm I've ever been in. Admittedly my shrubs are loving it and I'm very thankful the wind was a total non issue as I have the pieces of my granite counter tops sitting out on the front patio (not my choice- the company installing them demanded that they be left alone)... but there's nothing to show.

Where are all the reports from Houston? :(
I was hoping to see photos also.
jordan: I saw the ONE picture you posted, are there more? What am I missing here?

I thought with all the anxious wishcasting from some of the Texans poster, we would have seen more reports.
Someone direct me to the right place(section) if I'm missing it please.
Hopefully, everyone is safe.

Just read opera ghost's post(wasn't there when I was typing this). Thanks for the report opera. Guess that explains alot.
Sounds like you all got an ideal situation, the rain you needed and wanted, without the damaging effects of a major storm.

Sounds like computer or browser issues. You aren't using firefox, are you?

Appears they had some infrastructure failure. Notice the man hole covers bubbling over. Either a lift station failed or the system max'd. It doesn't seem like much of a problem unless your at the low point without back flow prevention. This should prolly be in another thread. Recovery and aftermath. Back flow from raw sewage during rain events is a big bummer. Been there twice.

Edouard has reached south central Texas. I repeat ... Edouard has reached south central Texas! Some moisture is coming down out of the clouds. The old-timers here in Austin say it's called r-a-i-n.

Congrats! It's amazing stuff. It's wet, cool, makes plants green, and you can even drink it!

Went out and checked the rain gauges and we've got between 3.25-4.0 inches, depending on which on you believe (I'm not high tech, so they're not fancy or anything). Also have standing water in the backyard, but that's par for the course (thank you City of Houston for not taking care of the drainage system).

It's let up in the last half an hour too. Just a few sprinkles too.

I'm happy for y'all ... I know H-town was getting dry, too, up until these last few days. Hope we have the same luck and get a nice general 2-4 inch rainfall.

LOL! The most flooding I saw in Houston today was on Channel 11. A driver of a pickup truck pulled off a slightly flooded road and blew over a fire hydrant. The water from the hydrant completely flooded the road and the news station had a field day. :ggreen:

Quick storm recap from central Montgomery County. Well, their is nothing to report actually....just some good rain for the lawn. I was hoping for some decent wind but in all honesty, I couldn't even tell a tropical storm was over us. Seriously, gusts of any sort were completely non-existent. It's been a little breezy (5 to 15 mph winds) but nothing out of the ordinary. Kind of weird.
