Don't like what I'm seeing developing to in central LA.
Look like some deep convection about to blow up.

OK: The main mass of Fay is obviously heading southwest now, and apparently is not going to be picked up by the trough as forecast.

I think she's going to be a TS again.

Looks like some energy from Fay is headed southwest.

This is updating radar, which at the time of posting, depicts an east-west line of intense convection in southeastern Louisiana pushing toward the coast and offshore.

I predict (unofficial) that this band will pivot to a SW/NE orientation and beginning hammering the Mobile area later tonight.

IMO, not gonna happen unless her COC, which is 90 mi N of NO heads south and somehow develops an inner core. Her mass of rain is definitely heading towards the GOM, but I don't think TD Fay is.

I'm just east of houma (maybe at 290) by about 10 miles. Best band yet. Upper energy involved in the band as there is some thunder and lightning.

Not great but worth the price of admission.

You gotta love that WWL TV-4 weather radar. I like it because you can click and zoom, it's the radar I use. Thanks for the show Steve.

I humbly suggest we close this Fay thread on this page. I think 666 is fitting for such a devilish tropical system.

The remnants of Fay are still headed south toward the GOM.

Yes...looks like the center is entering Louisiana from Mississippi around the Kentwood, LA area and I-55. It's actually moving a decent rate of speed from the appearance on radar.

I think we will get the rain here in the South Alabama sometime overnight into the Monday. There has to be a reason they still have us under a flood watch.

Depends how you define Fay at this point...absolutely the remnant low pressure still remains, and is a very decent rainmaker. Are advisories going to be reinitiated with new tropical storm watches and warnings....not at this time.

Sean in New Orleans wrote:I'm pretty surprised at the wind---Fay seems to still be a depression or a broad windy system. We've had sustained winds of 30 to 35mph most of the day, with gusts over 40 mph. Even Carl Arredondo made note of the gusts of 40 mph at New Orleans Interational Airport.

I haven't seen much wind today, certainly nothing like that. Why is that? I'm not exactly sure where the center is, but I think it is closer to me than south of the lake.

I meant I didn't think it would even have a chance at regeneration.

From what I can see on the radar,it appears the "center" of whats left of fay is located just west of Purvis Ms.

Is there any realistic shot whatsoever of this girl making her way back to the bar (GOM)?

I hope not, but what is keeping Fay from entering the Gulf again? I know the front is keeping her from heading due north but what about south?

Has been raining most of the day across from N.O. Saw a rather large pecan tree toppled onto a neighbors house.
Wind hasn't been too stiff, though.
