Search Not Working

#1 Postby artist » Wed Jul 16, 2008 11:18 am

99% of the time I click on a users name then to search their posts I get the Cannot use search at this time. Even in off times. Is this going to remain this way or is it just me?
Thanks in advance. Using IE7 if that helps.

Artist, once there are a certain number of people on the board the search function is automatically disabled. As for why you can't use it in slow times I can't help you there.

thank you. I know today it worked once and then it hasn't worked since. I knew about when it is busy, but this happens quite frequently so if anyone else has a possible solution I would love to hear it. Thanks again CajunMama.

I made a change to allow searches once every 15 seconds. It was set at 60 seconds for members. We'll have to watch the load to see how things go.

ok, I just clicked on a mets name, then clicked on search users posts - it immediately went to Sorry, etc. This happens to me more frequently than not. Any other ideas?

Probably at that time there were a lot of people on the board. When that happens, search is automatically disabled to save resources.
