Logged out without wanting to be

#1 Postby ColdFront77 » Tue Apr 15, 2003 4:53 pm

When I want to stay logged onto this site, but have to to leave my computer for a period of time, when I come back to refresh the latest posts... I have to log on again and end up back to the posts just made the second I logged back in.

The settings obviously have a time limit that logs us off automatically. I was wondering if it could be changed and if there is reason why it can't be. I really appreciate it. Thank you very much in advance. :D

Didn't think it would make a difference, logging in automatically and having the latest posts refresh don't seem related. It apparently does and I can see why.

Sorry about that. Thanks. :)

Great, Chad. Something that I have been basically aware of. Would be nice if there wasn't an "auto log off" when we don't want to log off the site. :)

Yes. I am not sure why someone would actually want to be logged out of the site, in any case. We will not have to use the [easily found] feature if weren't disconnected from the site after so many minutes.

Thank you for your understanding. In order to get to the bottom of issues we have to discuss them. Thank you. 8)

Shannon, to use the auto-login feature you have to have cookies enabled. If they are enabled and it doesn't work, delete the cookies and then close and open IE again. That should fix it :-)

The cookie thing isn't set by user. You should be able just to hit the Logout button to turn it off :-)

Try dleting your cookies and then try and logout. After you do that, make sure and close IE before you try and go back in to the site :-)
