Not really...pagasa is at 14.3, JMA is at 14.5, JTWC is at 14.6....that's pretty significant...

Actually those are not that far apart, and are a pretty typical spread, especially when the eye covers 15-20 miles or so and is not completely circular. :)

I guess it's their track that's making me mad....

A tiny bit south of due west right now. Still looks like it will go right over Manila to me.

Now, now, my friend. I know you're tense. Just stick with us and ignore the PAGASA track. Don't ignore PAGASA, just the track.

i never rely on pag-asa after the ondoy tragedy.. i always visit jma website since im impressed with their forecast of the past systems... (and of course this forum on which i learned a lot of things)... not that because i find them unwise, but i knew jma has better equipments than pag-asa... and oh the rain somehow weaken and turn to showers here in Pasig City as of 12:17 am

stormboy wrote:Hi guys, this is my first post here in the forum... But I dont feel that Im new here because I usually check this site when a storm is coming. Im located here in the Philippines - Las Pinas area.

I think PAGASA made a mistake earlier... they've changed the time of their bulletin to 10:45pm instead of 11pm... I dont know if they will be issuing another track soon. I heard in the news that they are having a hard time to interview someone from PAGASA because they are very busy tracking the storm.. Mirinae must be tricky isn't it! Or maybe, they are just... you know... making the most out of their old equipment... I hope their funds were not used to pay the ads of different politicians who are starting to campaign themselves for the upcoming elections...

Welcome to storm2k!

Thanks ozonepete! You know what, I dont see any landfall yet... where in fact, PAGASA told that Mirinae will landfall this midnight... oh no... what wrong with them... many lives are depending on their forecast...

I've been kind of a long time lurker here (I found this site during last year's coverage of Ike, and I've always been a weather-junkie - maybe growing up in Florida had something to do with that) and I just wanted to send my good thoughts to you all in the Philippines

My parents' home province is Catanduanes, and it looked like it got brushed by the stronger southern edge of the storm. We're hoping things didn't end up too bad there, but I guess time will tell
