ATL: TROPICAL DEPRESSION ANA (02L)
Moderator: S2k Moderators
Fast moving Ana is booking out of here it seems...sky is lighter, rain about normal, just the lightning and thunder still hanging around but clearly moving west.
We're fortunate here not to have the mountains of some of the islands so we don't get the landslides etc.
It was a beautiful storm with a couple of YIKES moments, just enough to know - again - that it was as much as we want around here.

I believe Ana is no longer a TD...as I see no signs of westerly winds in the satellite.
Doesn't even look like a really good wave right now.

I can't pick up a circulation on the VIS SAT this morning although a small LLC could be obscured by the heavy convection. Probably an open wave now. I don't think the ULL is going to be an issue KWT, because its progged to move briskly into the FL straits by tonight and weaken as it chugs west in the GOM. Might have to watch for regeneration if the main convective mass stays north of Hispanola and Cuba - shear is now 10-20 kts out of the S-SW and probably will remain in this range for the next several days.

Well yeah if the ULL does move away then that right its not going to be an issue and the regeneration could occur but I have to think thats why the moels aren't developing it, theres no other reason why they wouldn't unless they think the low level flow is still going to be too rampant?
I think its going to hit at least part of Hispanola on the way through but yeah if the ULL does move out of the way then needs to be watched in the gulf.

Re:
As of right now Ana does not look like she be an issue in the GOM, if she makes in there.
Hispanola can be nightmare for strong hurricanes.....this is not even close to that.
Whatever would be left of her would take awhile to reorg. if conditions were favorable
and that may be an issue too. JMHO

Looking at the visable the center , may not be closed off , but it is north of where the NHC is tracking about to come in over PR.

Actually stormcenter TD/TS/Waves aren't really that badly effected by the high ground, in fact remember last year when Fay got upgraded over while going over Hispanola...
Whatever is left will be interesting to observe the track, I think this still will have to be watched, any tropical wave entering the Gulf has to be watched.

If there is a LLCC, it looks to be just southeast of southeast Puerto Rico, moving northwestward. (Where the big blowup of thunderstorms is). Should be interesting to note what that area brings, as it looks like a pretty intense area right now.
