A bit different situation than for Katrina. For one I don't see another tropical wave waiting to merge with ol Ana. Two different location. But gulf temps are warm. :froze:

Kinda wouldn't mind her reorganizing a lil bit. Rain isn't necessarily bad. Of course i don't live in brevard or volusia.. so I don't know the crazy amount of rain they got from Fay, but if all she is, is a rain maker. bring her here.

besides, the slightly cooler temps would be nice.

Regeneration in the short term looks unlikely. Shear and land interaction are severly limiting Ana. Worthy to keep an eye on though.....MGC

Ana may have fallen to King Tutt.

Does the Euro or GFS do anything with the remains of Ana?

Well, if Ana fell for him, lets have the Fab Four '63 give her a proper send off and wish her well. 8-) (Always liked this song.)

TB ABC Local model brings TW Ana south of Cuba and then NW into the Gulf. The NAM shows a low forming and moving north just west of the northern Bahamas. I refuse to count Ana out.

Just kidding lol. Really though, the NAM isn't the best model out there, and if it is the only model forecasting development, I doubt its going to happen.

Hello, I don't write Ex-Ana off at this time. What's left of it, may produce a new low somewhere in the extrem northwestern Caribbean or in the gulf - who knows...

I see a CC spin just of the eastern tip of Cuba - may be the old MLC. Devoid of convection now. Need the VIS SAT to confirm. The ULL is still in the vicinity to the SW but looks like its weakened.

My local MET as well as 3 NOLA TV METs said that what was left of Ana was forecasted to track into the GOM but it would just be a rain event, not much wind but a lot of rain and that the system would not regenerate into a tropical system, it would just be a rain maker. I'm getting some good rain this morning which I guess is being caused by the remnants of what was TS Claudette.

I would not rule out a new low forming from this mess. It is still a tropical wave after all and has the distinct honor of being the 1st named system. That aught to count for something.... :D

Lest not forget that Ivan II was just a batch of tropical energy left overs that toured the states and remerged in the GOM. It was nothing more than what we are seeing today....

How can he possibly know that. That kind of talk takes me back to 1992, i was visiting Dallas and a local OCM made that same comment about Andrew. Three days later the NHC was issuing hurricane watches for portions of Florida.
