if you run the loop from ssd which by the way is updating.. for me .. you can see a weak rotation that is rotation around the vortex in the carribean.. i have it circled below.. that will wrap around and weaken and the vortex will become the center over night. its pretty clear whats going on now. its a little rotational dynamics :)

and with all the dynamics going on right now.. a wobble NW over the next few hours is likely.. :)

Wish I could. The one on the Internet does go as far as was the Pro model. My brother is a pro met at KFDM 6 in Beaumont and just told after he took a quick look.

Considering her environment, I don't think she looks half bad. If she is indeed off at the NE fix, she may stay north of PR.

I don't think so, Steve. Here's a new plot that's even more supportive of the main center SW of Guadeloupe. I see that the plane is exploring the NE quadrant to see if a new center might be forming way off to the NE, but they're not finding anything there. There just isn't any surface ob supportive of a center NE of Guadeloupe.

It would make sense if the system is being sheared at different layers and different directions within a general tropical flow it would spit out a satellite vortex or eddy.

This system is seriously disorganized.

Edit: However if the Guadeloupe center is the SW corner of an elongated structure the new burst could be a sheared reflection.

FROM THE NHC

TROPICAL CONFUSION FORMS EAST OF THE LEEWARD ISLANDS

Data from recon and recnt sat imagery indicate winds blowing from different directions and confirm that something may be going on . Latest model run of Hwrf show a Cat 6 hurricane
and the Gfs shows ...Hey somebody plug the Gfs back in please! Residents of the islands and puerto rico should rush to a bar and have a cold one till we can figure whats going on.

The next advisory will be issued after the pizza comes.

There was 2 ULL one went to the NE and the other moved to the SW. That is the ULL that you see. I am not a PRO I maybe wrong. But that ULL has been around it slid down to the South.I have that map too. But I maybe very wrong.

In all the years of observing storms. I don't remember one that looked this disorganized and at the same time organized. Looks like a huge storm or Hurricane. At least on IR loop.

The vortex SW of Guataloupe is a gathering the rest of the storm now. Maybe will see this thing come together before our visible loops are gone. Look at how the center stalls just SW of Guataloupe and begins its recovery.

I know radar is not the best for position but IMO you can't deny the vortex is consolidating SW of NHC position.

Last 2 nights have featured huge blow-ups of convection starting in the early evening... wonder if that trend will continue to allow Erika to live another day...

To my tired eyes, the last 2 visible frames suggest that there may be another LLC forming near 17.5 60.5, but that is just by eyeballing the photos.
