That doesn't even justify a reply.

Hello guys

Greetings from pakistan

As a great storm chaser i saw 7 storm suppose to hit my city Karachi but missed it just 3-4 hours before landfall
the latest casualty was PHET.Now i really want to know why this actually happened.i really need to know why not a single cyclone ever hit karachi? The only reference i found on net december 15 1965 it said near karachi not Karachi. Can any one would like to help me in this research. Here i tell you are very unrealistic and hard to believe legend.we have a tomb of Saint name Abdullah Shah gazi near karachi coast line his follower said that
no cyclone can hit Karachi until his tomb is there. Most interesting part yesterday when PHET just missed Karachi
wall of his shrine fell down -I think you call this story crap and i also agreed with you but every time when cyclone nearly missed Karachi it gave me more reason to believe at true legend

I only need serious people who really identify with me the real reason behind this story.

Storm reference> 01A 1993 YUMYIN 03B 2007 PHET 03A 2010 :?:

I'm not trying to be mean or anything. The media was spreading IMD skewed forecasting to people. The likelihood of landfall in Oman was dismissed and that info was passed on to everyone and not corrected even when Phet was practically on top of Oman and still heading west(like I said in the post).

I think one of the factors is dry air.
The difference between the cyclones in the Bay of Bengal and the cyclones in the Arabian Sea is that the cyclones on the Arabian Sea have to deal with the dry air tha comes from the desert of the Arabian Peninsula, dry air inhibits the development of tropical cyclones or weakens the cyclones that have already developed.

Another consideration is that the subtropical ridge axis is relatively far south during the transition seasons (spring and fall), so storms that happen during the transition seasons get wiped out by the baroclinic zone to the north of the subtropical ridge. Since storms don't happen during the summer (because the monsoon is too stong and the upper level tropical easterly jet (TEJ) sets up) the only storms that happen in the Arabian Sea don't survive very far north.

In the last 30 years, only three storms have made landfall in Pakistan because of the aformentioned conditions, so statistically the chances are low it would hit any city. Furthermore, the JTWC best track put the storm 20 miles from Karachi (30kts at land fall) and Jinnah International reported 30kts at the time it passed by. How is that not a hit? Ususally the RMW of a system of this size would be around 20 to 25 miles.

It wasn't a tropical storm before making landfall in Oman

Which URL gives links between different Wikipedia articles? When we visit any Wikipedia article, then it contains links to various other Wikipedia articles. If I am given topic, then is there any web page from which I can find what Wikipedia articles of what other topics can be reached from the article on that topic?

Phet's vapor produced significant rainfall in Xinjiang, China, the city of Yutian (or Hotan in Uyghur) received rainfall of 34mm in just 2 hours, very rare in this area of scarce rain.
