sandyb wrote:this is a question about the models but i wanted to post here seems to get better response...why are models still developing the system into a pretty strong looking systerm tropical or sub tropical what ever its gonna be but the hurricane center talks like there is nothing to this if you look at the models you looks like when it comes into the carolinas we have a pretty good system on our hands please explain

NHC at 2:00 did talk about consulting your local national weather service for possible impacts of this rainmaker. It's moving slow, it's being usual south Florida weather ... unpredictable and ever changing. NHC will issue statements about your area if it will impact your area within 36 hours (12 hours earlier than it would have last year)

sandyb, invest man, other NC'ers:

Here's a link to another weather site. I like this guy's discussions a lot and he has been taking the threat to NC seriously for a couple of days. He also explains why the NHC drops the storm even though it probably will still exist.

ok, I found your county and clicked on Bald Head Island as I remember you saying something about a bridge closing during the last storm up that way, so hope this is pretty close to you-

you have a flash flood warning, and a wind advisory as the 2 major things to watch for at this point.

I completely agree. If I saw that picture out of context I wouldn't imagine it being a tropical storm.

The rate of retreat looks to be increasing but Miami-Dade might still get a huge shot from that persistant band that has been over the Keys all day.
