Also can someone please post the next recon flight with translation of times flights should depart so I know when to check this forum board. Many many thanks. Marion

The next mission will depart at 4:00 PM EDT. I hope that someone will post the google graphics during the mission as its very important for you at this moment to know what is going on east of where you are. I can't post the obs as I do many times, because I have to go to church at the time that the plane is in the mission.

thanks (or as we say in Belize "Big Up") to Brunota2003 & Extratropical94 on the maps and footnotes, really really helps and you're also helping other ppl in Belize, as I'm passing on some of the info on my FB wall so my friends who like me don't have tv or have packed away their computers already can keep in the loop. my dsl speed is down to dial up - overload I guess from everyone trying to watch and see whats happening to family & friends.

No problem Brunota2003 it all helps & like Extratropical94 my google earth won't do the maps thing either - I have question if anyone can answer please:
recon fixed center at 17.08N 87. 40W which when entered on google map put it way out near Half Moon Caye, yet 4pm CT advisory had it as 17.2N 88.0W. Its is about different GPS protocals? i.e. airforce/marine use a different one to say your regular say garmin GPS? format WINGS 84: or NAD27.

The recon fix is in minutes, where the actual position from NHC is in degrees. If you look at the last VDM I posted, they had the center at 17 degrees and 08 minutes, or (in parenthesis), 17.1333. NHC probably rounded it to 17.2, as recon did say they had to turn before they reached the wind shift center.

I think WINGS 84: std uis the minutes seconds etc & NAD27 is the degrees. I went through this GPS lingo with Belize Gov as the Ports Authority & Fisheries dept use WINGS 84 for mapping and most GPS units are set for NAD27 std, while ploting locations for buoys to be installed. I suspected but wasn't sure. Well thanks for clearing that up.
