Impossible, mountains too high that will kill the circulation and the waters on the other side are too cool.

Yeah, if this thing had had lolly-gagged a little longer over water, look out. It still looks like it is strengthening even after landfall. That'll change in a little while I guess.

I am happy to eat my crow stew just as long Alex doesn't decide to turn North on us.

3 hours after landfall and the eye is better defined (on IR) than it ever was over water. Impressive and beautiful storm. :D

There is no basis for such an upgrade though...at least that I know of...

I saw it looked better after landfall but Hurricane Dolly did the same thing so I'm not shocked. I thought the eye even appeared better defined but on a closer look it's cooler and larger. Right now it might be collapsing (the eye) and the rest of the hurricane is spreading out width wise.

I wonder what are the lowest pressures ever recorded in June?
947mb is low, isn't it?

really enjoyed sitting in online with you all
for the first time as you tracked Alex.
Thanks for all your expertise and patience.
Extremely challenging and fun too.
Alex had a lot of surprises up his sleeve.
I'd bet we get to have a few more tries at it
before this season is over.
