Convection fading fast and racing northward - away from the naked swirl of her LLC. Most likely just a remnant low at landfall (really, as it is now). Good news for the oil spill area.

The last loop image shows convection possibly starting to form again on the se side of the convection blob. Despite that, I think this system is done. I bet you'll be happy wxman57 when this dissipates inland! I'm sure you along with the other pro mets, as well as a lot of us on the forums could catch up on some sleep! Thanks to all the pro mets and seasoned amateurs sharing your knowledge and opinions. Bonnie definitely took us all for a ride the last week despite the odds! And fortunately the ride doesn't seem to have been too bumpy for those areas Bonnie has been to and will soon be at!

With a track like Bonnie's; thank you, ULL! It was pretty fascinating watching the two interact all week.

Back to lurking.

Did it decouple last night when the circulation made that left jog? And it then recovered some more convection and is now decoupled again?

Is that what happened or what did I miss last night?

Sorry for the questions this early...just trying to catch up.

It simply tries to build convection but it gets blown off by the ULL

AT 700 AM CDT...1200 UTC...THE CENTER OF TROPICAL DEPRESSION BONNIE
WAS LOCATED NEAR LATITUDE 27.6 NORTH...LONGITUDE 86.1 WEST. THE
DEPRESSION IS MOVING TOWARD THE WEST-NORTHWEST NEAR 20 MPH...32
KM/HR. A GRADUAL DECREASE IN FORWARD SPEED IS EXPECTED TODAY WITH
LITTLE CHANGE IN THE DIRECTION OF MOTION. ON THIS TRACK...THE
CENTER OF BONNIE IS FORECAST TO APPROACH THE NORTHERN GULF COAST
TONIGHT.

SATELLITE IMAGES AND DATA FROM A RECONNAISSANCE PLANE INDICATE THAT
BONNIE HAS BECOME LESS ORGANIZED. MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS HAVE
DECREASED TO ARE NEAR 30 MPH...50 KM/HR...WITH HIGHER GUSTS.
STRENGTHENING IS BECOMING LESS LIKELY.

THE LATEST MINIMUM CENTRAL PRESSURE REPORTED BY AN AIR FORCE
HURRICANE HUNTER AIRCRAFT IS 1013 MB...29.91 INCHES.

As others have already mentioned with the track Bonnie took similar to some much bigger and famous hurricanes there are millions of people that were very fortunate this time around. One has to think if this was mother nature giving us a practice run in preparation for the real deal in the next month or so.

Well, Cyclone Mike, what I am hoping for was this was our storm and that our area won't get anymore close calls for this season. One can hope, right? Poor Bonnie, she never had a chance, but, I say a prayer of thanks for the ULL that never left her alone.

:sun: Thank heaven for the ULL. I don't feel sorry for Bonnie, not in the least. Glad shes ripped apart.

Hopefully this is the ONLY storm threat we see this year.

See ya in 2016 -- not!

Yes, we were fortunate that she was embedded within the flow of an upper-level low and not an upper-level high.
