if you look back to page 87 or 88 there is a link to a pic taken by one of the astronauts currently in space. He tweeted it i believe. In my opinion that has to be the best pic of danielle i saw :)

I wouldn't be surprised if they issued the last advisory at 11 PM.

Need an AMSU pass to determine if a lower-level warm core is present. My intensity guess remains 70 kt thinking the baroclinic forces are enhancing winds.

Still a fully tropical hurricane. I guess there is a solid low-level warm core. It is all semantics though, a 70 kt extratropical storm has the same impacts as a 70 kt hurricane.

DEEP CONVECTION HAS GRADUALLY ERODED INTO AN ELONGATED BAND IN THE
NORTHERN SEMICIRCLE AS DANIELLE CONTINUES TO MOVE OVER COOLER WATER
AND TAKES ON THE APPEARANCE OF AN EXTRATROPICAL CYCLONE. HOWEVER...
A UW-CIMSS AMSU INTENSITY ESTIMATE AT 29/2133 UTC STILL INDICATED
A STRONG UPPER-LEVEL WARM CORE...AN INTENSITY ESTIMATE OF 87 KT AND
A PRESSURE OF 968 MB. THE INITIAL INTENSITY OF 70 KT IS A BLEND OF
THE AMSU ESTIMATE AND A DVORAK CURRENT INTENSITY ESTIMATE OF
T4.0/65 KT FROM TAFB.

I'd actually raise the intensity some based on that, thinking baroclinic forces are enhancing the storm. Maybe bring it to 75-80 kt and a pressure around 972mb.

Yes, I think that fact is sometimes forgotten.

A ship this morning found a pressure of 974mb and winds of 64 kt. Given the ship measurement, the pressure should be 967mb. I would have bumped the intensity back up to 75 kt thinking the strongest winds were not found.

Next advisory should be the last as it looks frontal now. Headed for no man's land right now as it crosses 50W.
