It was observed from Kadena. It's no longer being reported now.

I was going to ask about that earlier! I've been talking to friends all over the island and one was saying there were tornado warnings out. I didn't know there could be tornadoes during typhoons. Learn something new every day, I guess.

We thought everything had calmed down here...and then we realized the wind had shifted and so it just wasn't as loud in our living room anymore.

I wonder about that funnel cloud. It can happen... but I'm not sure about this situation. It's possible.

I see there is a tornado warning out from the 17 OWS. Peak wind at Kadena was 43 kt. Pressure rising rapidly now.

LOL! You must have windows facing to the south? It is so quiet in our house, right now because our windows face to the northwest, northeast, and due east and the wind seems to be coming from the south. The people on the other side of our building must think it's really bad now, too. We're sheltered for the time being.

Amen to that! My husband and I have been sitting here chatting via Facebook with some of the young Marines in my husband's unit. They just said the wind has shifted and it is raining into their room now. I think they're all going stir crazy being stuck inside.

They all hate us because we have alcohol...and they don't. The funny thing is that we haven't even put it to use. Man, they weren't kidding about the power grid being heavy duty here...I'm pleasantly surprised that we haven't lost power once.

We currently have three active tropical cyclones in the NWP.

Amazingly, including today, this has only happened for a total of ten days since September 1, 2002. (2002 saw 7 days with three existing TCs, the last of which on Aug 31.)

That's 10 days out of exactly 8 years (2922 days plus leap days) that this has happened; despite this year's inactivity, this situation has not been common.

And I bet you within a day or 2 the disturbance will be a depresion..plus with 93 who knows maybe the WPAC is awake again. The blogger guy here from the paper said that we need to watch the 2 by guam because the only steering current bring them here. i dont know how to look at steeering currents so i couldnt tell you if thats right or not.
