Nicole's remnants haven't even reached land yet. All the wind and flooding is from strong south winds ahead of the cold front.

just got back from the grocery story
the white oak rive in cedar point is now in homes and garages
and it is rising
school buses are having a difficult time taking kids home
electricity has just gone out in two of the schools and they were dismissed early
this storm is hard to beleive
much worse than some of the tropical storms and even hurricanes we have had in eastern nc
winds are suppose to get higher tonight
relaly worried about the trees and the saturated grounds

The saturation of the ground and increased wind (especially tonight) will cause many power outages I believe... Another note about the school busses; school should've been cancelled today.

Amazing, everything around us (both north and west) has been nailed by lots of rain and flooding. Yet we have yet to receive any rain. With any luck the stationary front won't push east until it all is gone.

Luck of the draw, it all set up west of us.

Based on our rain guage at home we've had 15 inches, 5 of that since about 1 pm this afternoon. We're also starting to have drainage issues with the plumbing in our house. FUN!

the area is being hit hard with flooding and roads washing out
this will go down as a major event for eastern nc
tv 12 and 7 are reporting that a family of four were killled in an accident due to the storm and two other kids are in critical condition
juist reported on tv that several roads in craven and onslow country are closed
it is amazing the amoount of rain we have received

Most of the rain up here has been in Philadelphia and to the west today. The front seems to be pushing the rain further east now into Delaware and New Jersey. At the Jersey Shore it was pretty cloudy and breezy and the surf is up, but really no rain until probably later this evening.

It seems like the storm is taking longer to move up and off the coast than originally predicted.

Well after 23.01 inches of rain since Sunday Night, the rain finally stopped about an hour ago.
