We are down to the last details. Power is already getting unstable. I will try to post some pictures I took earlier, should Irene permit and from tomoroow when it stops, if it stops tomorrow. All other folks in Puerto Rico, do not underestimate the puch of a strenghtening storm. Remember Marilyn. And be safe.

Wow, yeah I can see it is really intensifying from the IR images.

Stay safe, going to be a long night for you guys. Even winds up to 70mph gusts are very scary.

I know I'm in the minority on this one but I still see Irene spending a much longer time over the DR.http://www.boatus.com/hurricanes/win ... torm=Irene

Looks like it should become a hurricane before reaching Hispaniola if you ask me. Looks like the weakening TUTT axis is having a slight shearing effect (very slight but in a SSW to NNE orientation)...obviously very light SSW winds aloft, not much though.

Wow is all I have to say:

You never know. I swear every hurricane ive been through, the first big gust takes the power out. Even though I still think FPL just hits the switch when the wind starts blowing.

North Florida is down the middle for the second time this year 5 days out. Seems to me everything from the FL Pan Handle to North Carolina is in play. I once again like my chances being down the middle 5 days out. I won't worry until the Tues or Wed forecast tightens up. Looks better right now than the rest of the season combined.

yeah, go figure. These radars should be solid - especially at times like these with a developing system at their front door.
