That island has destroyed hurricanes that have well developed cores so its gonna depend on how much orginaztion this system is gonna do and how long it interacts with that island.

The tropics were the lead story here at 5:00 pm. Showed a few of the models and said it's something we have to keep an eye on.
They did not hype up the story but at least made people aware of it.

Highest winds are almost always displaced from the center in a depression or tropical storm. Although to be fair, not usually quite so far displaced.
