Yep plenty of light westerly winds, no doubt it has a closed circulation right now, maybe the NHC are also just waiting for recon to get one more pass before deciding about what to do?

Circulation center looks to be well established now. Mid-level center looks stacked judging by latest CIMSS vorticity products.

West Palm local TV mets say that the storm still doesn't have a closed circulation.

I am just an amateur and a "noob" at that so any speculations that I have made are just that, uneducated speculations. Please refer to the NHC for accurate information.

Yep classic transfer of energy from the MLC to the LLC...and that same process is dragging the LLC back towards the convection.

It is evident that the eddy found by recon is not what the NHC considers a closed circulation. This is still a strong wave moving just north of west....give it some more time.......MGC

What? How is this evident? This LLC is quite well established. Recon found numerous west winds.

91L has had several eddies and MLC circs over the last couple of days......they may be waiting for persistance with this one before pulling the trigger.

The big difference is the MLC and LLC now seem to be centered around the same spot, maybe only slightly displaced, which is far different from previous eddies there have been.
