Weather Channel just said to expect tstorm force winds across s. fla on wed night. How could they not put up watches or warnings for us @ 11?

100 mph. Forecast is for 125 (although I would think it could get higher than that).

No they were saying when its over the bahamas. right now its just been upgraded to a cat 2

I do not wish this storm on anyone, but I find it remarkable that just a few day ago the models had it targeting the Tampa Bay area and now it is forcast to have basically no effect on our weather at all. I have lived in the same house just a 3 miles from the coast for 30 years and never have had to worry about a tropical system. May the Tampa force be with whomever is in the path of this storm.

Remember guys... we do have a chatroom available 24/7 for anyone interested in conversational weather chat. As the hurricane threat gets more serious, Storm2k will get busier. Let's try to keep brief one liners like "I agree," that don't really add any value, out of the Active Storm threads. Of course questions and comments are always welcomed... that's why we're here.

go to wv and look at all the moisture covers over over 200 mi it stretches back to the windwards

Hey peeps,I am back as power,internet and phones came back tonight. I survived Irene with no problems at house,but I didn't expect to see the stars in my location as eye moved over me. :)

Eye wall now visible in high resolution infared, just south of 20 N (19.7) rapid intensification is probably underway.
