No you didn't mention Nassau which is why I did. People are under the assumption the Bahamas are sparsely populated when the opposite is true. And the 300,000 comes from a 2009 census so i'm afraid there are that many people. Unless you don't get out much

yes it will but thats to bad casue there are still gonna be people in the path of the storm north of us may end up with something and need to get all the info they can get

Well I guess this adds more fuel to the fire for those who believe (like myself) that you should take with a grain of salt "any" model output that is 8-10 days out.
Back then they all had what eventually became Irene going into the GOM and making landfall from central GOM to the west coast of Fl. per their early runs. Even now we have what we once thought was for sure a U.S. landfalling hurricane per all models just yesterday to what "may" turn out to be a major fish storm. Though I still think the jury is out on that call for sure even with the recent model runs. JMHO

Well, not really major fish storm, it's already a major but no way it is a "fish" storm, Bahamas should not think so. I agree that we can't trust a model 10 days out but we have to take them into account as certain possibilities, the panic is not good but the preparation is.

Hey Admins....

I see the word "fish" being tossed around a lot today. Please remind all that ever since her jump to tropical storm, Hurricane Irene has never been a "fish". Ask countless Puerto Ricans who have already faced her wrath or Bahamians who are either experiencing, or are currently experiencing this Category 3 monster.

Just because she has YET to make any CONUS impact doesn't make Irene a "fish" and calling her such really disrespects countless islanders.
