tolakram, thanks for posting the lastest satellite. I'm done commenting on whether it's looking better or worse anymore, becauase everytime I think the hurricane seems to be organizing, 2 hours later it's looking worse and vice versa.....Keeping my mouth shut now...

LOL I just this minute decided to do the same thing. This storm is doing everything almost opposite of conventional wisdom.

In my opinion the amount of apparent weakening seen in the IR loop is rather dramatic. I hope this does not lead to people downplay this storm.

That is a worry. This is still a hurricane, and a VERY large one. The effects will last a very long time, and still plenty of time before landfall.

I think it might have been mentioned a few times, but with the moon approaching both new moon and perigee (closest to earth) it creates whats called perigean spring tide which are some of the highest of the year. Now the highest won't occur until after the storm passes, but even the tides for Saturday/Sunday are higher then the normal high tide.

Maybe it's just me, but the last few frames of the VIS link above seem to show a shift west. Could just be a standard wobble to be offset by another wobble, but something to watch in my unexpert opinion.

looks like the storm has tracked pretty much due north since abaco. that's pretty consistent motion.
