That Pasco County buoy is dropping pressure fast.

Had a 55k-ft cell fire about an hour ago which has now built a good cirrus canopy.

Nice rain here for about an hour and in the last 20 mins a downpour. Totally unexpected and very welcomed! Hope you folks in Texas get the same.

Looks like the GOM appeals to this little low quite well.

HWRF is certainly interesting, a WSW tracvk the whole from the W.Atlantic would be unusual but certainly wouldn't rule it out.

To be honest it looks like the sort of system that will develop providing it doesn't dive too far south into the shear zone...wouldn't expect anything strong mind you but a weak TD/TS isn't out of the question.

We've received about 1.5 to 2 in of rain here in SW Hernando County and its still raining. Lots of lightning and thunder this afternoon with some small hail reported. This system has some juice to work with it once it's in the GOM.

Note that the weak LLC was identified to be on the EAST coast of Florida, quite a distance from those squalls. But the LLC is VERY weak. Obs across Florida now indicate that the LLC is re-forming farther west, closer to the convection. Development chances remain low. Unfortunately, it may track too far to our south to give Houston much rain on Friday.

Crazy retrograding track on the first day of the season.

Hope this isn't a sign of the ripe-ness of the conditions this year. Keep in mind there's record heat down there in the south.

Yeah that is a pretty crazy track, that upper high is very powerful to have taken it so far SW...as you say hopefully thats not a trend for latter in the season!

Odds are small for development, but certainly more than nothing!

looks like pretty good rains, especially over pasco, hernando and citrus counties on the west coast. i hope my parched yard in north pinellas got something respectable. i don't think the carillon area of north st pete did too well (i'm at work) as it seems we threaded the needle with heavier rains falling over Largo and to the east over the macdill region. at any rate, it sure is nice to see some rain!

Yep, we had a wonderful lengthy rain here in Citrus county around 2 p.m. plus hail, lightening and street ponding.

Wonder if Texas will finally get a little rain from this.
