Looks like something you see off the SE coast in May at the end of a front.

mm but this is a mesoscale cyclone, not a normal extratropical cylone and the sea surface is hot more of the recent TC 01M (Balearic-Sardinia)..

Is there unusually low shear for that far north this time of year? Looks like its gaining some tropical characteristics.

Dew points (Fahrenheit):

Temperatures (Fahrenheit):

Based on the dew points and temperatures, plus the sea-surface temperatures, this system can't be tropical

I do not believe these data be correct for a very small system. Look this system last night, this is not a normal extratropical system, very isolated and closed circulation thunderstorm activity:
As I have said before that this system in rapidly move to south and weakened in the next hours.

The characteristics of being small and convection close to the center doesn't necessarily make it tropical. If the environment around the system is cold, like we see in the temperature and dew points maps I posted, expect the system to be cold-cored.

But I have not said that it is tropical, but it was acquired tropical characteristics, to be followed as a subtropical storm or INVEST.
I do not open post for all storm, in this case I realize that something is wrong.
Last night you can see clearly that it was very like a tropical storm:

Small warm core evident in high resolution model to .
This will not be a normal extratropical cyclone.
Sorry for my english.

The little circulation make a landfall over Lybian coast; I make sure that its development has been blocked by the very cold air from black sea. Tomorrow will form 'a new cyclonic storm over the Eastern Mediterranean Sea:
