#NOAA42 just took off for third mission into #Isaac. Doppler radar and dropsondes should provide more info on inner-core structure.

Takeoff would have been at 410 pm edt.

HRD text update for tomorrows flight plans

Friday, Aug 24, 2012

G-IV: Is scheduled to fly around Tropical Storm Isaac. Take off will be at 0530 UTC from MacDill and will recover at MacDill. The G-IV will be sampling the subtropical ridge north of Isaac. No HRDers will be on this flight.

NOAA-42: Scheduled for a tasked mission into Tropical Storm Isaac. Takeoff will be at 0800 UTC from Barbados and landing in MacDill AFB.
Comments: NOAA42 will fly a P-3 TDR mission into Tropical Storm Isaac. Three HRD scientists will be on this flight.

G-IV: Is scheduled to fly around Tropical Storm Isaac. Take off will be at 1730 UTC from MacDill and will recover at MacDill. The G-IV will be sampling the subtropical ridge north of Isaac and doing a circumnavigation around Isaac. No HRDers will be on this flight.

Really interesting to see the previous recon mission that looked like it went home actually ended up doing some data collecting on the western side of the system according to the NHC.

The NHC must really feel they need all the data they can get.

seems to me data is being collected everywhere! Trying to keep the obs straight, the recco, straight, et al has been lot's of fun! :double:

still waiting for ge to update. Already shut it down and restarted a couple of times, still no go.

yep, I even have two different recons in there to try, sometimes if one doesn't load the other will, still no go. Getting reall frustrated. Been a long day!
