Sorry about the data not coming into the GE program. One problem was data coming in too fast and the other early on in the G-IV mission was that there was two spaces in on part of each data line instead of one. NOAA fixed that later on. I have coded the decoder to now handle that in real time in the future. I'll go through the dropsonde messages now and make sure they all got in.

I should also mention that anyone can add observations into the GE system within an hour or two of them coming out:
http://www.tropicalatlantic.com/recon/addobservation/
My site can only update every minute, at the very most, and sometimes that is not enough and a lot of times I am not monitoring in real time. (working on some other cool tropical products!)

Check the hdobs and you'll see it there...I've been watching TWC tonight and finally turned them off...now I know why I never turn them on when I'm working a tropical system.

0500 and 0800 are the take off times,0530 ad 1030 are the on station times (roughly reach operational altitude).

Ok all of you who are doing recon start pacing yourselves some because we've still got a long way to go.

You will miss a picture because GE will lock up, shut the program down and restart it, if that doesn't work wait a little while then do that again. The GE server gets hit hard esp during peak hours so it does slow the update times down. No worries, we can run without pictures if need be. If Chris is around he'll see what's up with the GE problemand take care of it asap. Thanks Chrs for all you do!

Same thing with hdobs. There are times that they will stop and I'll guarantee that. Just get up, take a break, get a cup of coffee, take a shower, fix something to eat and check every 10 minutes or so...they will come back on unless it's a problem onboard and they're returning to base. I check the Recco messages to see if those are being sent, if they aren't then it's usualy an equipment failure. Again, nothing you can do but relax & wait for the next one to come out. I know the natives get restless but they can go to the same sites we do and get the same results...nothing. ;)

And you will forget to post something somewhere along the line esp in a long track system like this. Don't worry you'll either remember it an hour after the fact or forget it completely...it happens and that's all there is to that.

With that...all of you who have worked, filled in for me, cussed me...well I figure a few do  a huge thank you! For now...GET...SOME...REST! I am!

If your unfamiliar with Zulu times these translate to 01:00 AM & 04:00 AM EDT. (zulu minus 4 hours for edt)

Does this thing still have a closed low? Doesn't seem like recon can find one.

Looks like they're getting closer to one - perhaps around 15.5 N and 70.4 W? Pressure should be under 1000 MB as well.
