I hope they dropped a sonde in that location! I'd love to know what the surface winds really are there.

Any idea if we are going to see NOAA42 or NOAA43 out today, or is it all Air Force.

TS force winds (35.9 knots) in the Big Big area at this station:

http://www.ndbc.noaa.gov/station_page.php?station=APCF1

That is around 75 miles E of where recon recorded 77 knot flight level winds, too.

Right now I think Debby is bumping at the verge between the trough and High. Right now GFS is winning as it nudges E. However this doesn't mean the High won't finally grab it and shunt it W along the coast.

From past stallers in this area this should have been more foreseen. Credit to those who were hinting this yesterday.

Dry here now with gusty constant S wind.

Of course, the one buoy that is closest to that flight level wind is not working...and stopped working earlier in the month (the 10th)!

As far as NOAA goes, I thought I saw something about a P3 tail radar mission, but not sure what date that was scheduled for.

30 frame WV loop, a couple of bad frames.

http://wwwghcc.msfc.nasa.gov/cgi-bin/ge ... mframes=30

Looks like the ULL is still moving SW, being pushed by the trough?
