I think HH will reach center before a landfall which would be good so it doesn't have to do any mountain maneuvers.

I usually look for anything under 10. You can also get a good feel by looking at the measurements around it. If the SFMR jumps up from 45 to 60 and back, or if there are readings around it in the 45 to 50 range, with low rain rates, then 45 to 50 is about right, most likely.
