Is there a possibility the NHC issues a Tropical Storm Watch or Warning for Palm Beach County?

IMO - TS or possibly hurricane watch today at 5pm for south florida and the keys.

I expect TS conditions in south Florida within 48 hrs now and possible hurricane conditions in a little over 48 hrs, so a TS/H watch is in order for the next advisory.

What are your thoughts for southern palm beach county? I know its part of south florida was just curious if you were talking all of southern florida or just the extreme tip of south florida.

Not a warning yet but a watch is definitely possible...

How far up the FL east coast do you think they will post TS/Hurricane Watches/Warnings? Lighthouse Point? Jupiter Inlet? Further north?

If Isaac goes NW and has less land interaction and goes through rapid intensification will a deeper/stronger Isaac be influenced more northerly?

No way this goes above NC over land/water as a storm? I live in this northeast.

Dropsonde and recon extrapolation finds the pressure in Isaac down to 994 hPa.

typically thats what can happen but not always in a weak steering environment you will see a tendency to the right with deeper systems but with a well intrenched steering pattern you may not see much of that. right now the steering looks to be on the weaker side especially up towards the northern gulf coast. we just have to wait and see how it survives the islands. watches will like extend at least to west palm beach being that its a very large system and the pressure gradient will be tight.

Weather Channel guys just said they don't expect the cone to shift at all at 5pm.

I still can't believe Issac is actually organizing when it looks much worse than it did yesterday from a convective standpoint.

The cone has to shift to the right. The NHC track is now a left outlier.

Wow, what a difference a day makes! Saw model / track update last night and now today...surprise! Guess this weekend will be for preparations with the family and then off to the firehouse! Here in Southern GA (Valdosta) a glancing blow from a good ol' tropical storm can bring us to our knees (as we found out in 2004). Guess its time to live by the rule...prepare for the worst...hope for the best!

Isaac may be vertically stacked now but it is looking pretty rough. Cloud tops continue to warm and it has nothing close to the deep convection of the past few days...which would be great news for Haiti...

convection has seemed to wane every afternoon and then pick up around 9PM every night the past few days, wonder if that will be the case again

Just like Jon Snow..."I know nothing" except what I know, and most of what I know is gathered by the fine people of the NHC

Just watching the Wundermap radar for South Florida...It appears feeder bands from the outflow are already training into Broward and Dade Counties...Dolphins game might get a bit wet tonight at Sun Life.
