looks like the center has drifted only a few miles due west, and the midlevel seems to be just to the NW of the surface, so its still not fully stacked yet if I'm seeing this correctly.

Watching this storms every move is really starting to make me crazy. Need to take a break, and watch the Hallmark Channel.
Looks like it is heading a little north of west slowly right now. Have no idea what it could mean, plenty of implications, and my brain is tired. Gonna check back at the next NHC update. I appreciate all the great information everyone is sharing.

NEVER Forget that and I JUST POSTED on My FB how the 5pm update track was Very close to Katrinas which is bad for my area with onshore winds and Surge and obviously bad for nola with winds pushing water out of lake Ponchtrain into canals...ONLY difference is models continue to trend west

That is very spooky to say the least. Isaac is currently almost exactly in the same spot where Katrina was at this precise time seven years ago on this day. THe only major difference is that Katrina was a cat 2 hurricane at this point, while Isaac is currently a 60 mph TS.
Yah, let's try to keep it that way, okay?![]()
Alls I can says is this......Isaac has a looooong way to go before he approaches Katrina's size. At one point homegirl took up most of the Gulf it seemed.
Rita (left), Katrina (center), and Isaac (right).

I don't think that's the center you guys are seeing drift west. The center is east of there

Give it a few hrs. and you're gonna see an eyewall. It's about to bomb out. This reminds me of Charley.

I think you may be right, the center appears to be basically stalled, maybe a 5,6 or 7mph drift to the W or NW.

its not a good sign when no one can figure out where the center is.

Well we know its still a bit disorganized which is a problem, not to mention Isaac has had a history of having disjointed lower level center and mid/upper level center.
It still looks a lot better than it has in days.

Any thoughts on what could be causing the sudden slow down?

this stalled motion is likely the center about to be pulled north in the convection or even a type of reformation..
