Makes a lot of sense, Great link to make the point! I know lots of folks discussed this days ago, and wondered why it wasn't mentioned, or why the forcasted track seems to push right through it. Not a pro as you can tell!

Live cams from Orange Beacch:

I have no idea how those people are able to get in there and play in the surf, but they're taking their lives in their hands. The best idea is to let the water do what it will. It's not the time to play....unless drowning is your idea of "play".

Houston Tx F.D....

ISAAC STILL PROGGED BY TPC TO MAKE LANDFALL OVER SE LOUISIANA. THE
12Z NAM IS TRENDING FURTHER WEST WITH ISAAC AND IT IS LOOKING MORE
AND MORE LIKE THE 00Z ECMWF. THERE COULD BE SOME SIGNIFICANT
CHANGES IN THE FORECAST PACKAGE THIS AFTN IF THE 12Z GFS SUPPORTS
THE THE 12Z NAM. THE NAM IS ADVERTISING THAT THE INFLOW FOR ISAAC
WILL COME THROUGH EAST/SOUTHEAST TEXAS ON THURSDAY NIGHT AND
FRIDAY. THIS BAND OF HIGHER MOISTURE COULD CAUSE SIGNIFICANTLY
HIGHER RAIN CHANCES THAN IS CURRENTLY PROJECTED. THE CURRENT TPC
TRACK WOULD KEEP THE HEAVY RAIN AXIS EAST OF SOUTHEAST TEXAS. 43

Convection igniting all around the center now. Will it strengthen this time, or fall apart again?

So in an hour and a half we could see them telling us that Isaac could be going further West than originally thought. I really haven't seen any movement of the center in the last couple hours, so I find this a very frustrating storm. Don't know if I will get any rain out of this system or will I get over 10 inches of rain. Will I have only low end TS winds with gusts to around 50 or 60, or am I going to get Hurricane force winds.

Right now it is partly cloudy with winds in the low 20's with gusts over 35 mph.

So confused. Is it going west? north?

I'm in Baton Rouge, lol. It could do everything from go west and pound us, to go north and not even touch us.

New set of recon planes going into the system now. Last set found motion continues to be NW with wobbles and loops. NW motion continues, generally along the NHC track.

So winds are slower within 15 miles of the northeast eyewall than they are 40 miles away from the northeast eyewall? Is that true of other storms?
