2 hour loop on GR3 shows almost north travel and near landfall at the tip of this landmass

Looks to me like we'll have landfall in the next couple of hours.

Zoom in radar loop. Looks like the center is becoming very distintive. Looking forward to seeing what recon has for us.

Just like Jon Snow..."I know nothing" except what I know, and most of what I know is gathered by the fine people of the NHC

Not sure the proper thread, but I thought those around the country might be interested in the makeup and layout of the NOLA hurricane protection system:

Who on TWC is saying that? Although it's more common in stronger systems, it is part of an Eyewall Replacement Cycle and is not uncommon at all. There are many varities of it.

It is very common for a Hurricane to slow and/or stall as it nears or makes landfall. Very common. It usually lasts a few hours until the eye is fully onshore and then the expected motion continues.

I would have to hear it in context. Dr. Knabb is very knowledgeable. Has to be more to what he said.

Re: ATL: ISAAC - Hurricane - Discussion
Reviewing the NOLA long range radar loops sure looks like it is slowly moving NNW to NW, I don't see any W in this loop, and tightening up as well.. hard be 100 % for sure cause its radar.. my humble opinion.. but latest radar shot is the best I think I've seen on Isaac..
Always listen to your emergency officials and the NHC who have done a pretty good job on this storm..
